There's a little analogy I remember once from a sermon I heard a little while ago, but stuck with me ever since:

"You can't keep a bird from flying over your head, but you can keep him from building a nest on it."

The sermon was speaking about temptations.

I often reflect back to this one little sentence and it often gives me courage and confidence through the Spirit. Sometimes when satan presents us with different temptations, he already accuses us of sinning just because of the initial presentation of the temptation. It is not sin unless we act upon that temptation. We cannot stop temptations from being presented to us, but the Lord's strength we can keep ourselves from accepting the temptation and diving in.

Be encouraged by this awesome Bible verse:

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." -1 Corinthians 10:13

In Christ, we have already won.
